Ask Sarah: Intuition & Procrastination

Hi there! I love your articles!

So I have typed as an INFJ and the descriptions usually match me to a tee. However, a lot of the time, I can’t think of an instance where i used my intuition. I have gut feelings about situations and especially people but it’s not as apparent as personality tests make it out to be. Is that intuition sub-conscious?

In addition, INFJ’s are known as dreamers and doers but I’m a huge procrastinator. I have big goals and very detailed plans on how to get there but when it comes to working on things daily or completing my to-do list I have a lot of trouble. How do you think this relates to being an INFJ and are there any tactics that you know of to help?

Thanks! – Kadira

Hi Kadira,

Thank you for your kind words about my blog! I love hearing about people reading it and enjoying the content there! ☺️

In my experience, our intuition is basically like a gut feeling. Sometimes it’s an overwhelming feeling that you just can’t ignore and sometimes it feels like a more subtle nudge or something trying to say “don’t do that!” It also gets stronger the more you are aware of it and the more you pay attention to it.

Big dreams & Procrastination

INFJs are known as dreamers and doers, but we are also known for getting stuck in planning mode, which seems like where you might be. I also get stuck there a lot.

Another thing we struggle with is perfectionism, or wanting everything to be perfectly planned out before we make any moves. These are a couple of the reasons we procrastinate. But, if you are able to move past those things, INFJs are more than capable of accomplishing anything we set our minds to!

I would encourage you to look at a new course that I am offering. It’s all about learning how to overcome perfectionism, overcome our limiting beliefs and become the best version of yourself so that you can accomplish all of those things on your to-do list. I think it would be a great benefit to you! You can learn more about it here.
